Privacy and policies
Privacy, terms and the honest limits.
Written in plain language, and written for what this site actually does today rather than for what it might do later.
For Isha, before this goes live
This is a careful draft, not legal advice. Three things must be done before publishing, and two of them are legal requirements rather than good manners:
- Replace [ADDRESS FOR SERVICE] below. Trading under a name that is not your own means UK law requires your own name and an address where documents can be served to appear on the site.
- Use the ICO's self-assessment to check whether you must pay the data protection fee, and register if you must.
- Set the review date in
assets/js/config.js, then delete this notice.

Privacy notice
There is no account, and there is no database
This site has no sign-up, no login and no server that stores anything about you. The reflective tools send nothing anywhere. That covers the self-discovery experience, the feeling check, pick-a-thought, nature as a friend, the sixty-second reset, the journal and every planner sheet. What you tap and what you type stays inside your own browser.
Because none of it reaches Isha, she cannot read it, cannot recover it for you, and cannot hand it to anyone else.
If you email
Writing to the address above means Isha holds your email and whatever you chose to put in it, in her email account, for as long as needed to reply and to keep a reasonable record of correspondence. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted her and expect a reply. Nothing is shared with anyone else, and nothing is used for marketing.
Please keep emails brief and general. There is no need to describe your health, your history or anything sensitive in order to ask a question, and you should not send that kind of detail by ordinary email to anyone.
Web fonts
The typefaces on this site are currently loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No other third party is contacted by any page here: there is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no social media embed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how it is used. In practice, for this site, the only thing that exists is your email if you sent one, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time.
If you are unhappy with how a request is handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
What is stored on your device
There are no advertising or analytics cookies on this site. There is one thing worth explaining honestly, because it is storage on your own equipment and you have a right to know about it.
Your browser remembers a few small things so the site can respond to what you have already done: which stars you have found, which topics you have marked as read, which small task you have ticked, and roughly how much of the site you have explored, which is what grows the little plant in the footer.
All of it stays on this device. It never travels to a server, it is not linked to you as a person, it is not used to track you across other sites, and Isha never sees it. Clearing your browser data removes it, and so does the button below.
If you would rather it remembered nothing in the first place, private browsing works, and so does declining to click anything that saves.
Terms of use
What is here
Psychoeducation, reflective tools, printable sheets and learning material about psychology, research and wellbeing. All of it is free, and there is nothing to buy on this site.
One to one guidance
Individual guidance is not currently being booked through this website. The pages that describe it explain what it would involve. When booking opens, terms covering fees, cancellation and confidentiality will be published here before anyone can book anything.
The material is yours to use
Print the sheets, fill them in, use them with people you work with, take them to a class. Please do not sell them or present them as your own work. Everything here was written by Isha Roy and remains her copyright.
Links to other sites
Where this site links out, to a research paper, a helpline or a source, that organisation is responsible for its own content and its own privacy practices.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
What this is not
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is stated plainly.
- Not a diagnosis. Nothing here tells you whether you have a condition. The reflective tools do not measure, score or assess anything, and no result produced by this site is a professional opinion.
- Not treatment. Nothing here treats, cures or prevents any condition, and nothing here is a substitute for care from a registered health professional.
- Not therapy. Reading a page is not receiving therapy, and using a sheet does not create a therapeutic relationship with anyone.
- Not a crisis service. Nobody monitors this site and nobody can respond quickly.
- Not a replacement for your own judgement. The material explains things that apply generally. It cannot know your circumstances.
Where a page is built on research, the source is printed on that page so you can go and check it. Where the evidence is mixed or contested, the page says so.
Emergency
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK or 112 in India, or go to your nearest accident and emergency department.
For free, confidential support that is not an emergency, the urgent support page lists helplines for the UK, Scotland and India, and how to find one anywhere else. Samaritans are on 116 123, free, at any hour.
Questions about anything on this page are welcome. Write to hello@psyoura.com.
